The Capron
Internets, don’t fail me now.
So, not unreasonably, I often blob around the house in a dressing gown - like tonight, for instance. And should my upper body get too warm (as it sometimes does), my default response is simply to slip my arms out of the sleeves. But if I’m still sitting like that when it comes time to get up, then I don’t tend to pull the sleeves back on - instead, I just let the whole thing hang from my waist until I reach my bed or the shower or while I make a snack, because laziness, and also who the fuck cares? I’m at home in a dressing gown!
My husband, however, finds this both hilarious and insane, and has dubbed the hanging, unsleeved dressing gown “the capron” (being a supposedly witty portmanteau of cape and apron). He insists that nobody else does this, and has proceeded to mock me accordingly; I, however, hold out hope that I’m not alone in my caproning. So if you too share a love of the capron, let me know! I seriously can’t be the only one.
Can I?
