Anonymous asked: The Doctor differs with regeneration. Expecting 11 to be the same as 10 and 9 is ridiculous. Sorry, but that's a pet peeve. 6 tried to strangle his assistant, and (along with 7) was much darker, 2 was a stark contrast to 1 in terms of humour.. 11 is not the same character as those in previous episodes. He cares less (willing to kill a star whale, physically assaulting Daleks, watching as House died...) for one difference. He has different traits.

I get that the different Doctors have different personalities, but at base, they’re all still variants on the same man. Relative darkness and different senses of humour are one thing, but Eleven has displayed progressively less and less intellectual curiosity with each passing episode, and that’s definitely a defining characteristic of all the Doctors. And what bugged me about Asylum was, there was so much to be curious about, but pretty much the only question he asked the entire episode was where Oswin got the milk for her souffles, which meant ignoring everything else that was weird and odd and incongruous about the setting. Which to me just felt… unDoctorly.
