I’ve had that pointed out before, that Hill has multiple racial incarnations. So in that sense, no, it’s not completely unreasonable that Whedon made her white - but given the overwhelming whiteness of the rest of his cast, the paucity of POC superheroes and his supposed status as a progressive writer, would it really have been so hard to cast a POC actress instead?
