OK SO

I just rewatched the 2009 Star Trek movie, and right at the end, when Spock meets Older!Spock and is all, “In the face of extinction it is only logical I resign my Starfleet commission and help rebuild our race,” given that there’s stated to be only 10,000 Vulcans left, it seems kind of implicit that, among other things, he’s talking about getting his pon farr on and helping to shore up the numbers, right? Which means that when Older!Spock replies with, “But you can be in two places at once. I urge you to remain in Starfleet - I have already located a suitable planet on which to establish a Vulcan colony,” what he’s also implicitly saying is, “Leave the wooing of the nubile young Vulcan ladies to me, bro. Seriously! I got this one.” So when Spock agrees, he must be thinking, “Logically, it would be better for the two of us to sex up as many women as possible, and if Older!Me has got the home base covered, then that means my duty is to get it on with Uhura. Stat.

At which realisation I may have choked at the mental image of Leonard Nimoy chatting up Vulcan ladies.

This is an amazing interpretation of the scene and I may have to adapt it into my headcannon.
