In Black Widow, Whedon subverted the male gaze in filming her, she's got the 3rd-highest amount of screen time of ANY character and she doesn't use sex as a weapon so much as using the expectation that she will, to subvert her enemies. And the eye-candy is all male.4. Now, discussing Hill's whitewashed appearance in comics art: yes, please.

Black Widow’s portrayal bothered me a bit - it’s true she doesn’t use sex as a weapon, but as Jim Hines pointed out, there’s something a bit problematic in the way the only female avenger consistently uses her supposed vulnerability as a tactical ploy.
