sessifet answered: *raises hand*. My therapist once explained it: something isn’t right, you’re self-aware enough to know your tools are currently not helping, so you “choose” a non (or least) harmful thing to channel into. I hope tomorrow is better for you.

recollection-collection answered: Yeah it does. The same thing happens as a reader going through suicide ideation too. Just seeing it processed externally via a character, something that exists outside of ourselves, helps a lot.
