Links are to my reviews.

1. ASCENSION: queer disabled ladies in space, fighting Big Pharma & learning to get along. MC is a stowaway mechanic.

2. PRAYER OF THE HANDMAIDEN: warrior-priestess fighting off creepy possessed invaders, rekindles childhood love

3. CHAMELEON MOON: dystopian, city on fire fights repressive gov’t. Contains f/f/f triad including the trans woman lead (she has sonic powers)

4. PROMISES, PROMISES: Parody of LotR/D&D starring three lesbians on A Typical High Fantasy Quest for impossible objects

5. GOOD ENOUGH TO EAT: ridiculously cute paranormal where both girls are supernatural beings, but both are afraid to tell the other because they think the other one is human

6. FIERCE FAMILY anthology: SFF short stories about queer families. Includes a LOT of two-mom families (in space, in dystopian Australia, in a magic cave…etc.)

7. THE CAGE: short free story about lesbians rescuing a werewolf baby from anti-werewolf agenda humans

8. SCREAMING DOWN SPLITSVILLE: Girls with superpowers fall in love while escaping the lab that was experimenting on them. Set in alternate magical 1950s.

9. DAUGHTER OF MYSTERY: Religious magic, swordfights, & manners in upper-class 1800’s fake Germany. Full of plot twists and schemes.

10. THE SCRAPE OF TOOTH AND BONE: free short story. Steampunk at a fossil dig, includes a robot battle & dinosaur ghosts! Autistic MC written by autistic author.

…also, my own books :P

Honestly, I never ever want to read about any WOMEN dying. Especially women who love women (or animals. PLEASE DO NOT KILL ANY ANIMALS IN YOUR BOOKS, PEOPLE). That said, I read through some of these reviews, and I suspect that these books will be a bit too sweet for me. Can we not have scary danger and cool action adventures with lesbians who don’t die… why must things be either super sugary or super dark and twisted? Just some dry-wit action adventures with grim hero lesbians and rude asshole anti-hero lesbians and wise lesbians and dumb lesbians, and lesbians who are moms, and lesbians who pine, and lesbians who care or not… with none of them dying…

Sorry if my reviews gave you that impression but Ascension, Prayer of the Handmaiden, Chameleon Moon, and the Fierce Family stories are definitely not sugary and contain a lot of the things you asked for. Side characters die, main characters go through excruciating physical pain and emotional torment…  even the ones that aren’t so twisted, like Daughter of Mystery, aren’t sugary at all. Honestly, with the possible exception of that vampire book and Promises and maybe Kayla’s book, the bulk of this list is darker than my own books.

If these still don’t sound good, I can point you towards @bellabooks and @ylvapublishing for more lesbian books of all kinds.

Yeah Ascension is pretty messed up, but my memory is that nobody actually dies. sort of.

*tentatively points to my forthcoming title*

so An Accident of Stars won’t be out until August, but it fits a lot of these criteria. it’s not oriented around romance, but three of the four POV characters are queer girls/women, one of whom has a romance with another girl; it’s an epic portal fantasy with politics and danger and polyamory, and basically just v. full of women, most of them queer, doing Adventures
