The Aeneid is essentially Odyssey/Iliad fanfic, which is historical RPF in the first place. Pretty much, yeah. As ever, the popular way to define it seems to be: if it’s good, it’s literature, if it’s not, it’s genre/fanfic/pulp/trash and probably written by someone with LADYFEELINGS. *eyerolls unto eternity*
