friends let me tell you a thing

I grew up thinking gender was entirely about coercive assignment, that it was an external judgement you were supposed to live up to. Because nobody explained to me that trans people exist, I didn’t properly realize that cis people exist.

So, I didn’t realize I was agender/genderfluid. I thought I was a failure as a girl. Fully believed that something was wrong with me.

And y’know, I was taught that girls got periods. So I spent about 8 months (when I was 13-14) scared that I would not get my period ever, because I wasn’t a proper girl.

Cissexist education is bad education, and the access kids have to information these days is awesome, and don’t let anyone ever tell you otherwise.
